As more and more time goes by, the fight to legalize marijuana is gaining ground. It seems that many people are opening their minds and realizing that they have been brainwashed by fear mongering, sheer ignorance and political agenda. A scary combination to be sure. Each and every day there is something in the news about marijuana and more importantly its benefits. In spite of very little funding or support, dedicated scientists are proving on a regular basis that marijuana literally saves lives.
Myth after myth has been debunked in favor of reality. In favor of healing benefits and pain management without horrendous chemical cocktails that just create yet more serous health issues. If a person really wants to know what they’re talking about, it’s easier than ever to get your facts straight. Straight from the experts. Straight form history, science and thousands of personal testimonials. Straight from people that defy the “powers that be” and take back their fundamental right to decide for themselves how they heal.
There is a book packed with facts about marijuana’s role in medicine, politics, science and culture with some ancient history thrown in. It’s called “The Pot Book” Edited by Julie Holland, M.D. There are also some interesting contributions from names you will recognize. If that book isn’t enough to open your eyes, then the only thing keeping them closed is ego.
Another excellent source of information is a book written by the late John Paul Morgan, M.D. He was a chemist, scientist and professor, just to name a few of his accomplishment. In his book, “Marijuana Myths/Marijuana Facts: A Review of the Scientific Evidence”, Dr. Morgan helped debunk many myths such as:
Marijuana has no medical value.
Marijuana is highly addictive.
Marijuana is a gateway drug.
Marijuana kills brain cells.
Marijuana impairs memory and cognition.
Marijuana use impairs the immune system.
Marijuana use during pregnancy damages the fetus.
Marijuana use can be prevented.
If you don’t want to sit and read a book or wait to get it and you would rather educate yourself right this minute, then below are videos packed with even more facts, figures and hope for many. To allow humans ages 1 to 100 to remain suffering and dieing when there is immediate help available is just another tragic example of what our society has become. Much respect should go out to the ones with the courage to take risks and do the right thing.
