We share the following because it is important to us that our readers know where we are coming from and that we hide nothing as there is nothing TO hide. There are many sites out there that claim spirituality, awakenings…lightworkers…etc….
What alot of people fail to see is that most of these sites are riding on the tail of being spiritual.
You can tell which sites are actually meant for spiritual guidance…and these sites will not, and do not allow ADVERTISING. You must really question the agenda…most people do not realize that this site does get paid for allowing ADVERTISING. One thing I refuse to do with my blog is allow distasteful advertising.
A flag is raised when someone is also asking for money, in the form of donation.
Take a good look at the advertising on the page…it’s really has absolutely nothing to do about sprituality.
I see ads for prescription drugs from Canada, which is against the law to purchase…it also advertises for health care…..everything on this site is asking for some form of money, under the disguise of spirituality.
You really have to question the motives of these types of sites.
Spirituality is free, knowledge is free.

Dear Phoenix Aquua,
You host your blog on a FREE host, blogspot.com. EscapeTheIllusion, however, runs on a server which costs money. It also costs money to maintain the mailing list which updates all of our readers when there is new content to read – something else that I, personally, do not have the income to sustain. Do you really want to know how much money is “made” off of this site? The co-owner and I have always been upfront and honest about that. We can count on roughly $75 per month using the Google Adsense “profits”. The mailing list alone costs us $80 per month. What other ad space do you see, which isn’t Google ads? Is there a donation button? Yes. Note where this button is – a very small button that doesn’t even appear on the home page. Tell me, please, I beg you, when have we EVER sent out emails or published a post asking for donations? The donation button was implemented silently into the site, without so much as even a subtle announcement. Furthermore, Google Ads works by showing ads which relate to the things each and every person searches for on their own computer. For example, I searched just this morning for website development degrees, as my husband is interested in going to school to learn how to build and maintain websites. Where you see Canadian Drug ads, I see DeVry University ads.
I would NEVER go to your blog and personally attack you, and your way of doing things. In my opinion, the more sites one reads, the more knowledgeable they are.. and the more power they have to make informed, intelligent choices and opinions of there own. EscapeTheIllusion is a site that has never charged for its content, or for any subscription service, etc. You are correct. Spirituality is free, as is knowledge. Servers, mailing lists, and the several hours put into this site every week when I should be working to feed my family, however, are not. And yet, even though we’re still paying out of pocket for the remainder of the costs not covered by the minuscule advertising income, you have the audacity to come here, to our site, and spew your angry thoughts to try to dissuade our readers from coming here. Shame on you.

Peaceful Greetings to you Phoenix Aquua~
As you can see from my partner’s response, she is quite passionate about what we do, as am I. As you may also see from her response, this site does not pay our bills, but in fact costs us. We are alright with that, but just because we truly enjoy what we do does not mean it isn’t still work that takes away from the time we could be earning a living. We are so very blessed that we can still do what touches our Souls and the precious Souls of our fellow Humans who choose to live in the way we do or are simply trying to find their way. We choose not to hide who we are and what we believe and have a deep Love for ALL we come in contact with. But, alas, we all have our days and our moments of weakness and you did in fact touch a nerve on this particular day.
There is no ill will being directed towards you, but please understand Sarah’s statement that she would never go to your site and personally attack you or question your motives is quite true. This is not something I would choose to do to another either. The name you have chosen to represent your self implies that you have also “risen from the ashes” as have we. You do not know our story and all we have faced and conquered and you never will as we are not here to tell our story. We are here to tell the story of the entire Human race, share the Peace and the Love and the Light that connects us all. All we know of you is your statements here on this day.
Perhaps you are also having a not so great day and in your own moment of weakness made a rash decision in choosing to pass public judgment that lacks any facts what so ever. Now you have only a tiny idea of what we do behind the scenes, but I believe it is enough.
It’s true that not all folks sharing Spiritual information are sincere and it’s hard to know just who can be trusted and who can not. Isn’t it a terribly sad thing that one must question at all? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if EVERY Human could be trusted in sincerity and Love? Though this may not be the case (for now) there ARE fellow Humans who walk this earth (for now) who still believe in the “Golden Rule” and the Joy of being One. We are not small in numbers, we exist! Here on this site, you will find just such people. I quite agree that some sites do take advantage. We do not and never will as that is not who we are. Maybe if you were a regular visitor to our site, you would see this in time.
I notice that you chose to include a link from our site to yours. We are going to leave it (and encourage our readers to follow that link –> Arise From the Illusion) because you also have a message to convey and it is not our place to pass judgment on you or your message. After all, we choose to “Arise from the Illusion” as well.

We aren’t, in any way, profiting from ETI. The “income” from the site doesn’t even cover the site’s costs – and we’re OK with that! The only bit we weren’t ok with was having thinly failed accusations made against us which were untrue. The fact is, we aren’t running ETI for money, but rather for the love of our peers and the desire to bring to light truths which are otherwise under-noticed by the majority.

I see MANY spiritual sites. MOST of them have some sort of advertising on them! ALL of Ning sites I’ve seen have some sort of advertising on them. These sites are NOT cheap to run. I am forever grateful to those who take the time to run these! You both are amazing beings! Thank you, from the centre of my being. Namaste’ my friends. Keep up the fantastic work. I do not understand why someone would mention that ad about the Canadian stuff, LOL. I can’t even count how many US advertisements I’ve seen on the net! I am Canadian, it’s not legal here either, but, it doesn’t stop the advertisers! LOL. Sending out peaceful, understanding thoughts of good will toward any who feel it’s a ‘scam’ just because there is advertising on a site. As for the donation button, I hate to admit it, but, I hadn’t even noticed it until it was mentioned in that posting.. sheesh.. LOL

Last weekend we went to see the movie Avatar, I think it made a good point toward the end when it also said that the people of that planet new of the connection of all things and they respected that connection. We also must remember the saying that if a butterflies wings flap it is noticed all over the universe. This is a time to wake up to that fact and send out more love to all and recieve it back in return. Peace and love for this year and always to all of humanity.

Hey folks,
Just got a new computer and had been transferring all my files over, and just transfered my favorites on IE over.
I was doing my new years cleaning, and came up to ETI. I deleted it, and then clicked on the next…then for some reason I thought I would keep it, so I typed in the address and page loaded with On the Wings of the Phoenix.
I was like…wow…syncronicity.
So I’m reading along, and then it comes to my name, Phoenix Aquua. I was like….omg…I hadn’t remembered posting that. Now I do.
I saw a comment box, and I commented. No personal attack. If your gonna ask for comments and suggestions…then I suggest you sit back and bear witness.
Being passionate is relative, so I think you may have misunderstood the point, or I didn’t seem to make it clear enough.
Not to make excuses, but there were a few things that played a role in my “rant” if you would, and your page was readily available.
It’s not really a negative Sarah, it’s more of a positive in those terms, because it heightened your awareness to your adversting….maybe…maybe not..we’ll see from here on, what is adverstised. Simple. Point accomplished.
Sarah we all know that America has been drugged, and its a huge problem with our children now being presribed needless medication. I was reading your post on GenerationRx, and another on the same matter. I was surprised that the advertising the page was for adult prescription drugs from canada, weight loss pills…and a few other, what I found distasteful adverstising.
I do not believe that spirituality and prescription drugs should be in the same sentence, nor on the same page, and I have no problem standing up and saying that, most people tend to run the other way. The truth is a jagged pill.
I mean, I was sitting there talking to my roommate about spirituality and how drug us in America is keeping us from becoming more aware, thus surpressing our consciousness…and so forth, and went to your site, and it’s filled with adverstising for drugs. He just laughed at me.
That is when I posted the comment.
Now to say you have no control over your site is contrary Sarah. Everyone has absolute power and control over their individual blogs.
Additionally, the ads that appear on the page are associated with the post. So if I was reading a post regarding drug use, the subsequent advertising would be for “prescription drug use.”
I know I read another posting where someone was questioning your role in the participation of spreading disinformation.
The point is similar. To be spiritual is to become aware or consciousness in YOUR role in the WHOLE process.
The drug companies making these drugs are the same companies that you blogged about that are drugging our young children….I don’t want to go Dr. Phil on you, but let’s get REAL.
I think my point was taken, and awareness has definitely be raised…so I’m cool with it.
Obviously your feeling were hurt, and I can understand, because quite honestly, I HAVE received many similar comments. They were kind of jagged, I must admit, but to be able to see things through someone else’s eyes…now that’s a gift we should all cherrish, as it raises our awareness each and every time.

I love this site and I love the Movie, Keep on doing what you are doing, it is the message that is important and not the advertisement. There is a disruptive dark movement that is hitting all of the Lightworkers sites, and spreading dark rumors, those who have love in their hearts know the darkness when they see it, and all we do is keep shinning the light. Light overcomes the darkness always!! Keep shinning that is the goal.

I agree, it is best to see not only through our own eyes, but through the eyes of others as well. Otherwise, we aren’t really living together, we’re living in our own little box.
You mentioned that you saw a post wherein I was being questioned regarding spreading disinformation. I ask you, please point me to that post. LeAnn and I both read the comments left on ETI, and have (to the best of my knowledge) happily responded to any such posts – with full honesty, hiding nothing. It’s possible I may have missed one, which is why I ask you to point me to it. Or, to see if perhaps I’ve already responded. We don’t delete comments here at ETI unless they are threatening our other guests, or spamming for products (ahem, shoes…), so I’d imagine the comment should still be here.
You say it wasn’t a personal attack, and yet you tried to discredit the work that we do because we have advertising on the site to help pay a portion of our costs. To repeat your words, let’s “get real” here. You called us out, tried to discredit the work we take such joy in doing, and made us out to be the “bad guy” all without even once talking to us to find out the full story. Now you’re back to defend your post, without so much as once admitting that you were wrong to assume. Assumptions are for people who don’t search for the truth. Assumptions are believing in an illusion you created for yourself, without knowing the facts.
Our guests see what our purpose is through the work that we do. Yet you’ve publicly assumed, attacked, defended, excused yourself, and even admitted that you do have an understanding of how the advertising works, which means you knew that neither LeAnn nor myself “hand picked” the advertising that showed up to offend you in such a way. We know what our purpose is, dear Phoenix. Do you?

It’s clear that there is absolutely no Love and Light in that message. ;-0
I have received quite a few emails regarding that post, surprisingly enough, they agreed….I guess I’m sort of gloating in it…(smiling)…it’s always a good feeling when people see things through your eyes.
Like I said, it’s such a treat…not many people step back and see it that way….but I have a better viewing area.
It would seem that Consciousness is using advertisers to disseminate ideas of good; ideas which remind Man of who He is.
The irony is if we were all aware of who we are – we wouldn’t need any of these products, or adversting, would we?
This is all I have to say on the matter.
If you continue to live in the past, you cannot see the truth.
So move forward Sarah..into the light and stop taking steps backwards, live in the now….You are NOW aware of your adversting, and how it effects your readers….it’s not just me, I just had the ovaries to say it, while others run away. We all have to take a stand sometime, and say NO more!
You will look back on this soon, and it will click. I’m sure of it…it always works that way.
