There Is Only One God
-
I do not affiliate with any religion. For me, no one religion is enough by itself. The way I believe encompasses all that the various religions have to offer but goes beyond. God is not a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, a Hindu or any other religion; God is just God. He is everything! There is only one of Him and He doesn’t restrict His love to one sector of humanity. He is there for all of us regardless of how we perceive Him or try to define Him through religious dogma.
As far as I have determined, the eastern religions primarily see God as being universal and the western religions as personal. I think they are all right but none tells the whole story.
I believe in a universal God in that God/The Universe is everything, everywhere, above us, beside us, in us and in every living thing and everything that is. And we are all a part of this God entity who is pure spirit. This is also our natural state, as we are really spiritual beings who are temporarily using a human body in order to learn through having experiences here on earth. So I do believe in reincarnation, which is the eastern way, but I don’t believe it is a random event as some would imply. I believe we specifically choose to reincarnate at particular times in order to have certain experiences that are unique for each of us (and to meet up with certain people who will enrich our lives in various ways).
But as well as the universal God, I also believe absolutely in the personal aspect of God and have felt His presence on many occasions. Actually to some degree I feel His presence most of the time but on occasion very intensely. And although I have not heard His voice He has sent me many wonderful, awesome and enlightening messages by methods that cannot be explained by human logic. Although He doesn’t answer me in words, He has on many occasions acknowledged me with feelings. I might say “Thankyou God for …. this experience, this beautiful day …. whatever ….” and I have in return experienced the most intense feeling of love (spiritual bliss?). Never when I have an expectation of it happening though!
Just to add a little to that, I believe God to be the creator but not quite the way that people generally do. It seems to me that most people think that because God “created us in His own image” that He must have a human image Himself (but much bigger than humans). This is reinforced by various religions referring to God as “the Father”. But I think this is the wrong way round. God is pure spirit and doesn’t really have an “image” as such. (He guided Moses by cloud in the day and fire at night.) So when He created us “in His own image” it was as spiritual beings like Himself. And He also gave us free will and with that free will we “decide” when to incarnate into a human body to learn the lessons we need to learn. To my way of thinking this makes perfect sense no matter whether you believe in one human life only or many (as I do).
Now you might wonder how I can believe in a God that is both personal and universal as you may consider them to be contrary to each other. Well my understanding is that it is all to do with dimensions. We live in a three dimensional world where 1+1=2, always has and always will. But our earthly laws do not apply in a multidimensional afterlife where 1+1 has the potential to equal infinity. So, I have already stated that God is everywhere i.e. 100% of all that is (the universal God) but He is more than that; He is also the “thinking part” of The Universe (i.e. the personal God). It’s sort of like trying to put two litres of milk into a one litre container; it makes no sense in a three dimensional world but in the 5th dimension and beyond anything is possible.
I believe that the personal aspect of God is very important in our lives. What is the point of God if you can’t pray or talk to Him? Meditating is a wonderful medium for self discovery and wisdom but it isn’t enough on its own (at least for me). I want a God I can talk to as well on a one-to-one basis. Without that there would be something very vital missing from my life!

I agree with you in 90% because i have to leave some other possibilites, but your conclusion is one of the best so i gave it 90% of being possibly correct

TheArcher is right, of course! If God is omnipresent, it is obvious that everything is God : stones, plants, animals, and even man. Yes, I think that we are God too. The only difference lies in that we have created Names end Forms for the One and Only God, and then we started believing in “our creations” and drifted apart from Reality. I also believe that very soon everything will change for the better and mankind will awaken to the real Truth. Maybe we will be able to build a new World of Love and Brotherhood!

Hi there, I’m not trying to be negative but would like to add a couple of things.
First, you were referring to “God” as a “He”. Meaning he must be human. The only perspective we have as human beings is what we’ve been conditioned to on this Earth. There is not one person living that can explain what “God” is.
To assume “God” is human or a male specie seems miscalculated. I don’t even know what GOD is and you will never catch me selling “Certainty”.
Thus leaving you with the Chicken and the Egg theory. The problem we all have is “understanding what we are” and how we fit into nature in the emergent universe.
Religion need to go away if we are to survive on Earth. Once people let go of these superstitions and realize “Jesus”, “Buddah” or any other fairy tale is going to save them. They really need to look and learn about language, who deemed what is right or wrong, bad or good is all interpreted.
Meaningless words that could mean anything the interpreter decides in his own head a false value. In other words, what one word means to one person can mean something different than someone else.
Our language is outdated and at this point can never extract anything significant of “What Is”.
We’ve been lead away from our true nature as a species because of a few bad men what to have control, keep the population ignorant. So it’s important that they keep the “Money” game going for their own survival.

I LOVED THE ARTICLE…VERY POSITIVE. I WOULD HOWEVER AGREE WITH ONE PREVIOUS COMMENT ABOUT WHETHER GOD IS MALE OR FEMALE.IT SHOULDNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS IT WOULD BE ANOTHER LABEL.I WOULD SAY THAT GOD IS BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.ALL LOVE AND MUCH METTA.

Perhaps `The Archer’ perceives a masculine God energy because this is still an attached dogma generally used on Earth? Beings of Light don’t have genders and therefore are generally referred to as `it’ or `they’ or `the’ – it’s the human consciousness that needs to have classification of gender – probably an old paradigm we are used to using – still! I don’t know if The Archer is implying that God is human in the gender slant – clearly the dialogue demonstrates a greater understanding of GOD – nice one – thank you.

Warning! Contains possibly new information which may stimulate independent thought.
God does not exist, because of this universal “law”: Oneness and Equality. We are all One and Equal in standing thus the concept of Supreme Being or God is ridiculous. We created the whole universe\universes!
“No one above or below me”

I agree with Shee-un. We’re all divine sparks of the infinite Creator, for there is only one of us, experiencing itself in all different ways! That is why our brains are constantly creating all sorts of scenarios and we can’t help it, we are part of the creator and constantly creating! There is no such thing as God that needs worshipping, only be grateful for this wonderful game that we’ve been given to experience our selves and grow to become part of the whole. With all my love, namaste!

The life force within all is one. the creation of the material universe neccesitated the divison of one into polarites to create movement of energies, at the human level of perception, and lack of language to express, the ego creates reality to understandable forms and manner of expression

Please do not deny God the gift of Personality; otherwise, none of us would have Reason, Doubt and Wit.
Attributing to God all the characteristics of all the Creation negates His Will, His knowledge, His Wisdom and His Purpose.
That may or may not have anything to do with ANY Church or religious movement, is conceded.

A very good perspective Archer.
When I was a child, I thought like a child…Now that this child has come of age, the old myths and fairy tales of her youth must give way to the cosmic reality of the true force of her being. It is hard to sway away from teachings that were ground into you as a youth, teachings you were instructed as being absolute and unchallengable. To challenge was a sin punishable by hell and damnation.
Many years later this grown up child realizes that the majority of these teachings originated in long ago ignorant times to keep the populace in fear and darkness so that the Church could maintain control and be the entity in power. Burn and ban books, therefore, the children stay in darkness like sheep who depend on one master for salvation.
Yes, we are all equals. We are all gods. And we are all part of the Force that ties the universe together. It is not one life and then you get your wings. So much of the old world religions remind me of Han Solo’s comment on “hoaky religions”. For a long time, after my blind eyes began to see, I was extremely angry with the way the wool had been pulled over them. Once you see the truth you cannot go back.
As a Christian, I believed God to be personal, a Father, and therefore, a male figure. It is understandable that this image is still carried forward even into expanded thought, and when we Christians refer to God, it is hard to think of him as anything else. See I said it…HIM! Sure, God is collective both male and female, all that is. When asked his name, he said “I am that I am” meaning I exist. Don’t name me, don’t call me by Jesus, Budda, Mohammed or any one name that makes me a man. I am greater than that.
I believe that the most important breakthrough that I had was in realizing that the verse “God is Love” has a converse very true meaning, LOVE IS GOD. To have love in your heart is to be God. And not to have love for your fellow man is not to belike or to become God.
Any religion, therefore, that does not follow that idea of Love thy neighbor has no part in this world. It is fake. Any religion that promotes war, demands a religious jihad, that has a motto of “kill the infidel”, kill the non-beleiver, that does not respect the integrity of human life, that treats women less than a beast of burden is certainly not of the God I know.

Yes, we are all equals. We are all gods.
You wishing?
We all have Souls to start with, at birth.
Some of us lose our Souls; some of us decide not to listen to our Soul.
Some of us decide not to listen to Wisdom; some of us decide not to listen to Love.
And the most absolute truth of all, we do not share the same outcomes, you and me and another. We create our own outcomes, out of our ability to listen and heed our Soul, and Spirit direction, and develop ourselves into a whole Soul.
But everybody is not equal because everybody doesn’t do the work.
That’s how I see it.

sometimes….i feel iam in a soup of energy…..and at the same instant iam the soup…..this apparent feel of twoness and oneness is the most complex aspect to explain in words….why…how to go on a description of light when all that we see is only a few spectrums…..
“god”…is merely a description …a word…to explain the unknown….and the unknowable….the fix is in this ….or in other words the wedge is the word itself…..”all get caught in form….and words”….and mixup is instant…genders begin….
all talk of spirit…soul….gods…..what a joke…!!!!
all this is expression…or at the best your own projection of a form…or image…..just break this….and BE…..JUST BE……
SCARY EH……
beleive Me…if it scars you…..then you are squarley facing your deepest RNA/DNA imbedded ENEMY NUMBER 1.

Your article was very heartfelt and healing. It is something I would share with people who are searching for unity and answers. I would like to add that I refer to God as the Source, for it is neither male nor female but All That Is. The Source is what connects all and any creation together. My Guides once told me, “The Source just was, knew all and was all, but the Source wanted to experience what it was to know nothing and learn all that is. So, Source created selves, and through each self, experiences all the various emotions and learn all the lessons throughout all existence”. Since I learned this, I now realize that everything I experience, I share it with the Source.
Hugs of Divine Love & Light to all.

Hi everyone and thankyou for your comments. I was unable to find my articles on this website for a long time and did not come here for several months. Now that I have manage to figure out how to access the comments, here are my very belated replies. Although I expect that it is quite possible that none of you will return to this page and see them!
This was actually the first article I ever wrote although it was not the first that I published as I held back on this one for quite a while until I felt confident enough in my own belief and writing to actually make it public. I have refined my belief a little since then which may become apparent if you continue to read my articles. I am away from home at the moment but will be posting some more articles in the near future.
Firstly, I refer to God as He simply for convenience. To say He/She is rather cumbersome and to alternate between one and the other strikes me as being a little odd. And to say “It” is in my opinion rather derogatory. So that is why I refer to God as He.
I know that God does not have a gender although He possesses both male and female qualities. Some people refer to Father God and Mother Earth and I think that is quite a feasible interpretation as well. In fact even the word God is just a word really; it is just as fitting to use another word instead such as “The Universe”, “Source” or even “The Force” (for the Star Wars fans). It is all God and it is all good. This is the universal God, the All-That-Is, the Creator.
However, when I refer to the personal aspect of God, it is somewhat comparable to what Buddhists refer to as the Higher Self, the source of incoming wisdom. But I am not a Buddhist (or any religion). For me, I think of the personal aspect of God (or Higher Self) as being my personal link to the Mind of God. When God sends me a message, He intends it for me (as He does for each of us although not everyone hears their messages). That is why He sends me more explicit messages that I may pass on to others who are not hearing their own messages (or want to hear different ones as well as their own). Sometimes it is like taking dictation but other times it is a rough draft which I put into my own words in which case it is my interpretation which is not necessarily the same as anyone else’s; after all we are unique beings with unique perceptions.
I do not agree that we ARE God ourselves. We are each a PART of God but God is greater than the sum of all the parts. (I will be publishing an article soon that goes into more detail about that so I won’t requote it here as this is already long enough.) And also, I do not agree that we “have a soul”. We are our soul; the human body is just a container which is suitable for life here on earth and when our soul leaves, we discard it. Of course, some people never tune into their soul; goodness knows it took me a long time to do it but when it happened it was sudden and dramatic.
Thankyou once again to all who commented. I does encourage me to keep writing when I get feedback and know that someone is reading.
love and blessings
Pat
